thThe theme for April is Perseverance. Perseverance is not giving up, even when it is hard to keep going. The students and I discussed the definition, brainstormed together what perseverance looks like, sounds like, and feels like, and students recalled a time they used perseverance. They drew themselves climbing the Perseverance Mountain, and to prepare for AZ Merit, came up with an inspirational slogan to help. As we begin the second half of fourth quarter, we want to continue to be our best academic selves, and that means practicing perseverance.
Parents- Speaking of AZ Merit, we have practiced, prepared, set goals for this year's AZ Merit, learned stress relief strategies, and created an affirmation to help us persevere. YOu can help too, by ensuring that your child has adequate sleep and a good breakfast especially on our test taking days of Monday the 17th, Tuesday the 18th, and Thursday the 20th. Thank you! As a class, we talked about the fact that it is just a test, one on which we want to be sure to do our best, but it is just a small part of who we are, and what we have learned. I remind the kids, just do your best, it's just a test.
